Published Date: 22 August 2008
On Saturday, August 5, I was sitting on a seat while my daughter was shopping in the Burghley Centre.
I had a stroke in May and it has become a habit for me to nurse my head or drop my head on my shoulders as I get aches and pains in my shoulders and neck.

As I sat, a hand tapped my shoulder and enquired if I was feeling ok.

I thanked the gentleman and explained that I was waiting for my daughter.

Shortly afterwards I saw a lady come out of Spice of Life and she dropped something.

Suddenly a boy appeared and picked up whatever the lady had dropped. By this time the lady was passing me and the boy, who was about ten or 11 years old, said to her: "Excuse me, you have dropped this."

I was very impressed and told him that his mum and dad would be proud of him.

Two generations had shown kindness while I sat on a seat in Bourne.

Not such a bad place to live.
